I always associate this song with my uncle's place in Tallahassee (I was staying there in February 1979 when the record was popular). This is a single that should've been bigger than it was. It's lite rock but has kind of a '50s nostalgic backbeat, smooth vocals, an innocent, sincere, wholesome overall feel, and the lyrics suggest going to a disco (even though it's not a disco record). Perhaps that was its relative downfall; disco was at its absolute zenith and here comes something cast as more or less a generic dancing record that lacked disco's get-up-and-dance energy and seemed comparatively bland, and I think it hurt it somewhat. If it had come out a year later when disco itself was grinding to a halt and the concept of dancing became more "generic" again, I bet it would've gone Top 5. It sounds like something from 1980 anyway. Just a real nice song that's not too much one thing or another. I've always liked it, and feel it's a shame it's been mostly forgotten. Jeff
