I just listened to the 1979 countdown, and the song Dancing Shoes by Nigel Olsen was in the top 40. But here in the Midwest, this version was almost never heard. Instead, the version by Carl Storie and The Faith Band, a local Indianapolis band, was the big hit for this song. Carl actually wrote Dancing Shoes, and still performs around the Midwest in clubs and for private functions. He has his own website where his version can be heard, and if you ask me, his version was much better than the one that made the national charts. Funny how this has happened many times in the history of rock, where two versions were released, one made it big, the other really never made it.
