There's many advantages, over commercial radio, such as:

1.) No Advertising
2.) No DJ chat interrupting the songs
3.) Title, Artist, and Year are typically displayed
4.) Custom radio shows with YOUR ideas
5.) 24/7/365 music

I have to assume Bob's station is 100% listener supported/funded.
No need for sponsors, advertising clients, etc..
