Burt used the Herb Alpert's A&M studios in Los Angeles for some of his work, and if I remember rightly, he also produced some Herb Alpert tracks, and certainly wrote for him - "Casino Royale" and "This Guy's In Love With You" for example. So I suppose there would not have been all that much competition at one level and they seem to be good friends. But it still does not sound like Herb!
