I gather, initially, there was no A&M studio, they (Moss, too) just paid for studio time elsewhere! Goldstar comes to mind. They lagged with offering their artists Stereo sound. Even Herb re-recorded his horn work and dubbed it to The Lonely Bull, for Stereo!!! And even though a group, as we know it, didn't exist, Herb & Moss managed to make you believe there was one!!! Anyway, Jim, when I played this promo edition of the Scepter Records Story sampler, I was in Heaven!!! I got only a couple hours sleep, after a near sleepless night. Stereo, studio talk, slightly longer versions, etc! Now, I ordered the (3) CD set! I dig so hard to find unique material, and this CD came as an overdue wonderful welcome!! I gather, they added the studio talk, because EMI was doing that with their Legendary R&R series!! Best, |
