John, the sentence 'never trust record companies' certainly rings true for me many times over. But having a record out always helped to inflate prices for live gigs. It didn't seem to matter if the record wasn't even on the charts. Just the statement 'featuring the performance his latest release' in the publicity packet would often do the job. |
