Hi Randy, Where you be in Oregon? Portland? Down south? Up in the hills east of town? It's a beautiful state for sure. I was down at Seaside and Cannon Beach back in August. Drove across the Columbia River on the Astoria Bridge from Washington...which is one of the most interestingly configured spans I've ever seen. The weather down here ain't half bad. Here it is mid-October and the highs are near 86 degrees with nightly lows around 60. Humidity is low too...and I'd have to say compared with all the stickiness and mosquitos (read: 'skeeters') found down here in the summer....this kind of weather reminds me of walking along Alki Beach in West Seattle on an early August afternoon. Yes...looking across Puget Sound from up on Burleigh's Bluff...so named in tribute to the KOMO News Anchor and former KJR star jock Gary Shannon who now resides up there these days...is seemingly a distant memory although it's not been all that long since we were there. In fact...the most water you'll ever see down here in Dothan is in a swimming pool or in a gutter during a thunderstorm. No creeks to speak of. I miss the water. I miss Seattle. I miss my friend Gary Burleigh and all the other folks working at KOMO Newsradio but I don''t miss the overnights and weekends cause I'm gittin' too ornery to be awake at those hours all the time. Anyway...for now, we're here and getting (read: 'fixin') to know the people...and we're just sittin' here, diggin' how we got on this scene. Have a nice day Randy.... Bob |
