Subject: RE: Thanks For Pointing Them Out

Message Detail:
Jerry, I appreciate the exhaustive listing of scriptures and what appears to be contradictions in the bible.

Really, I do. You have obviously taken some time to come up with these examples.

The verses do say what they say...but...and it is a very big but...you make grievous errors by taking verses out of context, culture and sequence. This is a common occurrence among folks who attempt to find mistakes without taking the proper approach to study.

Most of your suppositions are refutable for one main reason.

Law versus Grace

You see Jerry...God made man perfect. Adam and Eve disobeyed God's rules in the Garden of Eden. Cain was the first murderer. By Noah's time...the earth was filled with disobedience and only him and his family were saved through the great flood. Moses was given the Law for the Jewish people, and their cyclical disobedience incurred God's punishment.

Now...follow this closely.....

Prior to Jesus ministry...man was under the law. From Jesus death burial and resurrection to this moment...every man is still under the law unless he accepts Christ's sacrifice for sins at Calvary. When He accepts Jesus...he is no longer liable for the penalty of the law...because He has grace in Jesus Christ because of accepting Him as Lord and savior.

Before Jesus = Law
After Jesus = Grace

Therefore Jerry...your attempt to point out contradictions by comparing Old Testament scriptures with New Testament writings is the proverbial apples to oranges fallacy.

Remember...Christ said that He didn't come to abolish the law...but to fulfill the law. The law of God is a schoolteacher that convicts man of his personal sin and leads a person to salvation of grace through faith in Jesus.

As far as the man/woman observations...you need to read Paul's specific directives regarding men and women and context them in the light of church service, qualifications of a deacon and pastor, and the responsibility God gives men to take care of a family.

Which you clearly misread and misapplied.

As I conclude this reply to your latest post...I have just gone back and re-read each example you have come up with.

You're trying to prove a point that has so many holes it would make a slice of swiss cheese as thick as a hunk of braunschweiger.

Remember...Law vs. Grace...OT vs. NT...Before Christ, After Christ...

You say that Christians are childish, primitive, selfish, prejudiced, intolerant, and dishonest.

Sometimes we can be. However...we are also chastised when we do wrong because Christ starts at His own backyard when it is time to clean up.

On the other hand, the bible describes beliefs such as yours as scoffing, foolish, deniers of the faith, and ever learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.

As far as the 50 year old new age cult you refer to...it's an old lie repackaged in a new way.

No one can come to the Lord except the Lord draw that person.

Including you Jerry.

Your soul hangs in the balance and it is my sincere prayer that you search the scriptures with an open mind (which you at this point do not have) and give the Lord a chance to teach you the truth.

God bless you sir....and I mean that sincerely....

Bob
