Message Detail:
To Norm & Jerry,

Many folks tend to dismiss a literal and specific creative authority because it's easier to not have to account to the Word of God which has been tested and tried over and over.

Norm...you cite the example of the Indianapolis. I can add many other examples...like the Titanic, WTC on 9/11, and so on. God says His ways are not our ways and our thoughts are not our thoughts.

It is written on every man's heart that he is going to die. God gave those men on the Indianapolis precious time to make a decision for Christ when they knew doom was moments away. Whether one has a terminal illness and has time to decide on Christ or gets hit by a sniper and is killed instantly...God is eminently fair and gives every person a chance to accept Him through His Son Jesus Christ....but He says 'Behold now is the accepted time (to be saved), now is the day of salvation'.

We're not guaranteed of seeing next hour. Eternity is just one breath away...and after that the judgment.

If you die having not accepting Him and you stand before Him, you can't tell Him that He wasn't 'fair' with you...because the plan of salvation has been told to you already and you contest it. I ask the Lord to speak to your heart, as intellectualism is not enough.

Speaking of which...

Jerry...why do you say a book written a mere 50 years ago is a thousand times better than the Bible. You leave yourself wide open to refutation on that claim. The Bible consists of 66 books written by 43 men over 1500 years (1450 BC to 90 AD) and you won't find contradiction one. Not a one. Even documents found in recent years such as the Dead Sea scrolls VALIDATE the Bible. Furthermore, the only differences anyone was able to come up with were minor language differences in the King James version translated from the Greek & Hebrew scriptures...and those are mainly contextual and cultural in nature but do not alter the original meaning.

Ask any non-believer and he or she will usually offer up any of dozens of stock answers as to why they don't believe. Whatever one's 'reasoning' or 'fact', be assured that you dismiss the Word at your own peril.

'He that believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth the Jesus Christ is Lord shall be saved.'

I pray for you.

Thanks,

Bob
