Norm, you're a very inquisitive and intelligent person. I too used to be a fundamentalist but got out of it. Because I found that the Bible really didn't answer my questions, was pretty vague, and although its a wonderful literary composition, and is helpful and does include prophecy -- it never really could be the Word of God in it's entirety. And I downright refuse to believe in the "vengeful, angry, wrathful" God of the Old Testamant. I wasn't intending to get into a big religious debate here. But about eight years ago I found The Urantia Book, which is a very spiritual book written about 50 years ago by various celestial beings and angels. We feel that the Urantia Book is new revelation from God to man. And the Urantia Book is a thousand times the book that the Bible ever was, because it elaborates on topics such as the origin and structure of the universe, what life is like on other planets -- and there are trillions of inhabited planets like ours, what heaven is like, the history of this planet, the history of the races, who the first humans were and who Adam and Eve were, several chapters on Melchizedek, and there's over 700 pages on the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.
