Welcome, Steve. Not sure you found anything relating to your old MOS here, but you must have gotten a hint of the 19th Century origins. Can we introduce you to re-enacting? (The forerunner of ASA was in the Signal Corps of the US Army, although the Confeds took a hand at it as well -- intcpt of visual [flag/torch]comms; breaking, reading, and reporting tac intel; tapping wires.) I'm an elderly, chairborne type, but we have some young and frisky troopers here who would be glad to get you started.
