Subject: Gen. A.J. Myer Residence
During one of most recent posts on this site, General Myer's residence in the Town of Hamburg, NY was discussed. As you know, I visited the site after properly identifying it to be correct and was fortunate to speak with the property owner. As I indicated before, the original home that Erie County Judge Ebenezer Walden ( Myer's father in law) had constructed burned down. A new home was built on the site in the early 1900's and was to be torn down as I reported in a recent post. Today, I had the good fortune to speak with the property owner again in the Buffalo, NY area and I was informed that the home was torn down and no new dwelling has been constructed on the site where Gen. Myer lived. The property owner was kind enough to provide me with an "Abstract of Title" to the property which confirms both Walden and later, Myer owned and lived on the property with "My Dearest Kate" his wife and family. So that solves that mystery and I was very happy to learn that information.
I would like to wish everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TOO AND ALL BEST WISHES FOR A VREY HEALTHY, HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR TO ALL.
