Subject: Signal Re-enactors' Staff College? You Never Know!
Didn't know if you all were aware of the Civil War Living History Institute, who have conducted, in some instances, week-long gatherings for the purpose of instructing those interested in perfecting staff officer duties, ala 1860's style.|
Please find more information by clicking on the link below and going to staff college for a peek. While at this site please give some consideration to the following:
Would the signal and telegraph re-enacting community (and the entire 1860's-emulating community at-large) stand to benefit by following suite? Should such studies be guided by, but not limited to, such works as Wood's "Plan of Telegraphic Instruction", Morse Telegraph Institute, Syracuse, NY, 1864 or Myer's "Manual of Signals For the Use of Signal Officers in the Field", Washington DC, 1864?
Cheerfully submitted for your collective consideration,
