Applause to all of you who have contributed to bringing a really cool vessel back to life, in her full glory! I'm a co-worker of Mark R., and happened to hear (a couple years ago)just a bit of mention regarding the salvaging and restoration of a 100 year old steam tug, and was fascinated. I really like tugboats in general, and very much appreciate antiques. Mark had then shown me a video regarding the Baltimore about 2 years ago, and I thought the whole thing was GREAT! When I saw the article on the front page of the Maryland section of the Sun Paper, regarding recent work to get the Baltimore ready for the move to M. of I., my interest was very refreshed. Today, Mark told me about this web-site, and I cheked it out right away. WOW! I love it! And have told many folks, already, to check out STEAMTUG.ORG. It's excellent, very interesting and informative. I'm not certain that I have much useful skill to add, and not much money at the moment that I can contribute (though, I'm trying to see what I could do), but I sure would be happy to help in some way. I applaud all those folks who have put the various things that they have (caring, skill, effort, finances, etc.) into bringing the Baltimore to her present glory. I'd say it is a worthwhile effort, and the fruits of your labor are obvious. Thank you very much for bringing this really cool vessel back to life! Well done! Regards---------- Nick |
