Subject: Squawkbox/Forum Name Change - Reason Concern'g |
|
Hi Doug, Thanks so much for asking this question. It shows that folks are still coming here to see what the latest might be. We're still searching for ways to encourage others to post up here. Let me explain.... As you may know, this set of forums are a relatively new feature to the site originally begun in September of 2005 by the able Mark Hageman, creator of www.civilwarsignals.org and then updated in January of 2006 by Bob Pratt and his website co-designer associate Derrick Aquino. We've actually changed the forum's portal name several times in hopes that it would create the spark to have others post. The Chesapeake region has a rich maritime history and things are occuring daily or are about to happen that could be announced her on this set of three platforms. We hope that it will and encourage you and others to promote others to join our discussions. I personally and singularly have been impressed with the amount of martime information being shared amongst the folks within the Great Lakes region. The Chesapeake Bay region now has such a gathering place her on this set of forums. This is the tug forum and I am hoping that more folks will seek to know more about the past and future of Tug BALTIMORE'S restoration efforts. We all hope to encourage EVERYONE to become acquainted then get involved with the ongoing plans of BALTIMORE'S future and seek to become involved with getting all lines ready for her future steamings as Chesapeake Bay's inland coastal waterway 'good-will' ambassador. The vessel has been a part of the collection of the Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI) since being raised from her watery grave in 1981. On the suggestion and encouaragement of BMI, the Baltimore & Chesapeake Steamboat Company (a 501 (c) (3) non-profit) was formed at the beginning of BALTIMORE'S centennial anniversary year to be the visionary group and custodians of the 100 year old tug. Our numbers are low but our spirits are high. Join with us here on these free forums. Support comes in many ways and you, Doug, are supporting us simply by asking. Matthew 7:7. Tnx for talk'g it up.
