Mitchell Davis will launch today from the shipyard at Solomons, Md., the new tug Esther Phillips, built for Captain Vivian Phillips of Baltimore…” June 11th 1908. The Esther Phillips Will Go Into Commission Today A successful trial trip was made by the tug Esther Phillips, which goes into commission today for towing purposes on the Chesapeake Bay. The Esther Phillips was built for Capt. Vivian Phillips of this city. She made a trip from Miller’s wharf to Fort Carroll in 22 minutes. The tug is 70 feet long, 16 ˝ feet beam and 8 feet depth of hold…” August 4th 1908. Walt |
