Message Detail:
Great presentation of DVD and a speech by Helen Delich Bentley at BMI today. This DVD documents, through excerpts from Helen's old WMAR TV programs, activities in the Port and the products shipped during the years 1950-1965. I remember much of this history since those were the years I fell in love with the Bay and the Baltimore area. I travelled from York on many Saturday or Sunday afternoons as a teenager just to absorb the sights and sounds of the old harbor. In later years I was able to actually sail here. Many fond memories as I viewed the DVD presentation and even a little dew in the eyes. I would recommend this DVD to all who have any interest in the Port, and especially, in the remarkable woman Helen! Thanks Baltimore Museum of Industry for the program.
