Subject: 2009 Tug Parade A SMASH'G SUCCESS!

Message Detail:
Hi Bob,

WOW!!!! Folks keep coming back, telling me what a great time they had being part of the Baltimore & Chesapeake Steamboat Company's 2009 Tugfest Parade from their grandstand vantage points aboard both the stern of N.S. Savannah and the bow of S.S. JOHN W. BROWN last month at Pier 13 of the Canton Marine Terminal.

The Baltimore City Marine fire boat sprays, the black powder signal and Civil War cannon crews up from Richmond, Va., plus those WW-II deck guns booming out their reports from aboard the JOHN W. BROWN, the whistles and air horns, the cheers and waves, all beggar's description.

What a great event!

Everyone's asking what's on the horizon as to future Baltimore & Chesapeake Steamboat Company events.

If there is to be a followup volunteer appreciation day by the event co-sponsors, N/S SAVANNAH Association and the B&CSC?

Do you suppose some of the tug participants, crews of the fireboats and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will want to touch their vessels at Pier 13 for appreciation day (with prior permission of the pier owners of course)??

The mates of JOHN W. BROWN really must attend the volunteer day too, with or without their Liberty Ship in tow. What a sterling effort by all!

Thanks again for the efforts B&CSC put forth to make the 50th anniversary of N.S. Savannah's launch a stunning success.

Best Regards,
Walt
