Subject: Two Launches Today

Message Detail:
The Skinner Shipbuilding and Drydock Company will at 2 P.M. [have] simultaneous launchings from its two yards.

The steel tug BALTIMORE built for the Harbor Board will go over at the lower yard. Miss Louisa Lowry Timanus, daughter of Mayor Timanus, has been selected as the sponsor. The invited guests will meet the old harbor Tug BALTIMORE at South street about 1 P.M. and will be taken to the yard. A lunch will be served on board the BALTIMORE.

At the upper yard of the Skinner company the first of two car floats under contract there will be launched. It is 280 feet long and will accommodate 10 freight cars.

[Ed note: The above article is significant in that no one in modern times (until this posting) had been able to successfully pinpoint the exact launch date for the 1906 Steam Tug BALTIMORE. It has been thought 'til now that the BALTIMORE was built at the upper yards]
