Subject: National Maritime Day

Message Detail:
The National Maritime Day at Canton Marine Terminal went without a hitch. It was the 50th Anniversary of the laying of the keel.
We had a beautiful day there, other than the high winds. Had a nice tour of the N.S. Savannah. There were at least 200 people in attendance. To include former people of the crew of the Savannah. To include Helen Bentley.Which she brought a taping of the Savannah with her. From the earlier days in Baltimore. Some of the people in attendance came as far as Seattle, Washington. No only was the ship a Merchant ship but a passenger ship also. With stately rooms and a dining facility.
