Hi Abby,

We have more data for you!

The 175 foot long CAMBRIDGE was built to operate on the Chesapeake Bay

The construction was carried out in Wm. E. Woodall Co.'s Federal Hill yards under contract with the Choptank Steamboat Company, at a cost of $90,000.

Her hull was of the composite type, having iron frames and beams and wood planking throughout.

CAMBRIDGE'S power plant consisted of a compound steam engine built by James Clark and Co. of Baltimore with steam producing thrusts of 18 miles per hour.

She had the capacity to accommodate 200 night passengers and was touted as being one of the most successful steamers of her class in America.

Standby All Lines!
Walt
