Subject: Tug Neptune

Message Detail:
Can anyone tell me where I could find out information about my great grandfather Captain John McLeod? There was an article about him in the Sunday Sun Magazine December 9,1956. The article was written by Jes H Jensen, who sailed with him. It was a full page article. The Tug was the Neptune. The article was titled "A Great Maritime Feat" My great grandfather the skipper, sailed through the Straits of Magellan. The tug was built by Spedden Shipbuilding. He seems to have been well known because his obituary claimed "His exploits were internationally
famous and old timers still yarn today of his epocal voyage around the Horn." I've been on ancestry.com as well as dozens of sites on maritime history. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
