Is Steve your engineer?
We aren't doing anything now, being winter and all that.
The tug will have to be towed out of it's present location (sitting in shallow water on the mud), and drydocked, etc, etc. Then all the fun begins. Boiler work, asbestos abatement, and anything the drydocking turns up. Once the boiler is reworked (tubes didn't look too bad - we have an "A type" water tube boiler that was a replacement for the old "scotch") and hydro'd. Then we can start checking all the pumps, generators, and the main engine. Can't do much where it sits right now. No electricity or water, and accessable only by boat. The good news is that it is 100% intact in the engine room down to the tools and gauges. Somebody used a pipe cutter and stole the whistle valve along with 2 of the 3 whistles. Minor details I guess. Lots of other work to be done too. Pictures can be seen at the link below.
