Raymond Earl Dabney

BARHAMSVILLE VA - Raymond Earl Dabney, 82, of Barhamsville, died Sunday, July 23, 2006. Raymond was a World War II Army veteran earning a Purple Heart. He retired from Harper Towing Company in Baltimore, Md. after 28 years of service.

Raymond was a member of the VFW Post 8356 in West Point, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Grace Dabney, brothers, Earl and Edward Dabney and sister, Ethel Dabney Lawrence. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Kuser Dabney; sister, Virginia Hunts of Barhamsville; special god child, Courtney Armandt; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA. Burial occurred in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, Barhamsville.
