Subject: RE: Ahoy Tug Baltimore from Jupiter |
|
To the crew of Baltimore et al: Well, what can one say?! I know we came down to honor the Steam Tug Baltimore on her one hundreth birthday, but we never thought we would have so much fun. In speaking to my crew, it was unanimous. Every effort made, every sacrifice necessary, was more than worth it. From the time we arrived, to the salute to the lauded tug Baltimore, to the parade in the inner harbor, to the open ships, to home again, we felt the pride and had nothing but admiration for the crew of Baltimore and all they try to do. No one appriciates more the efforts of the Tug Baltimore crew then we at the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild. We get it kids...and I mean first hand; the labor, the talent, the doing without, and the begging...yes the begging, it's all worth it. We know what you go through to keep Maritime History alive throught the preservation of Baltimore, with all the skill that goes with that daunting task. Just keep at it! Personally, and I'm certain I speak for the PSPG and it's members, I want to thank you from the bottom of our collective hearts for letting us be a part of such a momentus occasion. You made us feel welcome and honored, and that we were...honored, to be a part of your bithday celebration. We turned 100 some years ago, and in that we know that it was only the beginning of the next hundred. Won't you join us down that path to Maritime infinity?!...shoulder to shoulder. Let's show 'em next year Baltimore at the Pegasus birthday in New York. Let's figure out a way to both be there and just plain "show 'em". We love you Baltimore...now off to the next hundred!
