I hate to give you the short answer Clair but yours is a BMI question... B-M-I Baltimore Museum of Industry.

The nonprofit Baltimore & Chesapeake Steamboat Company official severed its ties with BMI on January 14th 2011 during a board meeting elsewhere in the harbor. This was no big surprise though. The relation ship between the two nonprofits had been souring for quite sometime. The lack of communication and cooperation between the two groups was big enough to guide a battleship through.

One of the prime reasons for the parting of the ways was over fund raising issues - and the future disposition of the vessel, and how it was to be interpreted. The insurance was dropped on the vessel so it became convenient to keep museum site visitors off of the vessel and also the pier.

BMI will have to sink or swim as far as to being a good steward of their priceless artifact - and that depending on whether the BALTIMORE sinks of floats.

BMI has the land to have the tug pulled but they seem not to want their ten or so parking spaces relinquished for the requirement.

Wouldn't the media reporters have a field day if the worst would ever occur? Let's hope that leadership comes to the fore and such a maritime history tragedy never happens.
