Subject: Unsinkable! Image Gone But We Have Text

Message Detail:
The image we had recently placed on this Federal Hill Shipyards Forum forum, of the Baltimore Evening Sunpapers April 15th 1912, has gone away, but the daily's headline is offered below in cyber ink.

"ALL TITANIC PASSENGERS ARE SAFE; Transferred in Lifeboats at Sea."

Evening Sun, April 15, 1912, p. 1+.

This famous headline and article reported that all the TITANTIC'S passengers were safe and, at the time of the paper's printing, the Steam Ship VIRGINIAN was in the process of towing the White Star Ocean Liner TITANIC into Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This article shows that early reports of an historical event may be inaccurate or misleading.

Why does the 1940's headline "Dewey Elected" want to pop into my mind right about now? Happy hunting researchers!

Walt
