Shown above is the newest Class "A" Baltimore City Fire Boat being constructed by Hike Metal Products Ltd., Wheatley, Ontario, Canada at a cost of $6,100,000 The Naval Architects are with Robert Allan Ltd., Vancouver, B.C., Canada When completed she will be 87 feet in lenght with a beam of 22 feet (width) The total depth of hull from the gunwhale (top edge of main deck) down to the keel will be 12 feet 4 inches. When fully loaded, the new boat will draft 7 feet 3 inches. The vessel is due for completion and acceptance trials in March of 2007. What will they name her? How about the WILLIE-DON 0r simply the FIREBOAT HON? Tune in next March for the answer. Walt |
