I read your recent post to Bob and saw the mention of not being able to hear the Jimmy Dee Show. May I ask if you are on a dial-up internet connection? Jim's Diner is a high bit rate show and streams at either 64 or 96kbps which is not possible for a dial-up connection to receive without enduring a lengthy download. It is encoded as an mp3 file. We do not do a Real Player version yet, as Real Player can also play mp3 and wav files,if in its set-up, it is configured to do that. We have thought about reducing the bit rate to 32kbps which would allow for dial-up, but the quality of the sound, in our tests, is degraded in doing that, and we want the oldies to be heard in full fidelity, especially by those who are hearing them possibly for the first time. Your comments will help us make a decision on the best way to offer the program to those who wish to hear it. All are welcome to comment as to a preference in receiving the program... High Bit Rate or Low Bit Rate. We thank everyone for their input. |
