Subject: Good ol' Days - Radio and TV

Message Detail:
It seems, everyone is tripping over themselves to make a ton of money for TV and Radio and Music. Cable TV? I tell those guys to take a hike when they come knocking at my door. I find TV boring, with cheap redundant productions and no name actors, along with silly ideas for shows. So many new gimmicks are surfacing for radio - pay for this or that, for what was once free. I look at gadgets for car radio, but you have to, I guess, pay for the "service". I'm still not even sure what an iPod is, and really don't care to know. So many college and university radio shows dominates the airwaves. Others are pleading for donations. Not sure why, but it's happening. As my sister and I agree, as the US hurts in manufacturing, due to other countries excelling, the US will be become heavily service oriented. And with all these pay services, it's becoming a reality.

I certainly don't mind donating to a good cause. Think Bob Mathers does a fine job while refreshing my memory with songs I've forgotten, being a CD collector. At least with Bob's service, I get to review it for as long as I wish, before donating and money.

With that said, I'd like to start my own vintage radio show. Not to compete with Bob and others, but to add a twist to what they offer. Sadly, DJs (in general) are of no help. Makes me wonder if they fear I'll tread on their territory. Offering a free "web" station will at least provide me with feedback, knowing if I can gather a wide enough listening audience, before pursuing an actual radio station. Just a dream, at the moment :-)
