Dear Bob, I just got through listening to the first half of the countdown from this week in February, 1958. It is great. It reminds me of when WCBS FM used to do a weekly top 20 countdown from a different year on Saturdays and Sundays. This lasted for several years however when it ended in I believe 2,002, this was one of the many indications that the end was coming for the best oldies station in America. That would take place in 2005 as you know. It has occurred to me that many songs in this list were not played nationally as the approach and style of doing oldies radio changed. As you also know, many genera's are represented in this survey also. Thank you for providing a place to enjoy and remember this great music which despite what the so called demographic experts will tell you will never die. Larry |
