Subject: RE: Music Testing
To answer your question, I personally have not.
To expound on your query...music testing is probably the anathema of radio, and has been for years.
Now you may be in radio, or know people who are. Many would strongly disagree with that last comment. I respect the fact that as a programmer of classic hits (formerly oldies) in the 21st century, you're saddled with so many other responsibilities in your job that music testing saves time and if you have a corporate PD, then you don't have much say anyway. You just play what they give you.
That's why sites like Ultimate Oldies Radio offer people an option. Many songs from radio's early years have been purposely forgotten by decision makers. That started decades ago.
Surveys and research can be interesting and valuable...if the recipient of that information cares to dig deep and learn as much as they can about the audience they have surveyed.
Thanks Mike...and Merry Christmas.
