Thanks so much for your reply John. The link doesn't work (thanks anyway though!) When it comes to Oldies radio, it seems to me that they shot themselves in the foot. First by going to a limited song rotation, leading to eventually abandoning the 50s & 60s altogether. Their advertising about themselves and their promos didn't help at all, like, "Come on you know the words". Why do we have to "know the words"? That means no deeper cuts? No forgotten songs? No obscure songs? And it was so frustrating to hear things like, "This is the music you grew up with"! WHY? Does this mean younger people & kids can't listen to this music and enjoy it too? Why would any station cut any potential age group? What commercial Oldies radio should have been doing was 'passing the baton'. Keep this great genre alive and going by playing "Oldies For The Whole Family", not just for those who 'grew up with it'. The DJ must guide us along by clearly IDing every song, and DJing preferably in the old "Personality Radio" style. (Complete with reverb!) Thanks for the opportunity to vent my fury! Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2016 y'all!
