John...a lot of truly forgotten songs are out there from the early 80's. Many of them haven't received much play on radio since ending their stay on the charts as 'currents'. Of course, many of today's 'expert' American PD's would tend to dismiss the importance of most of those, stating that songs fitting this description were not that strong to begin with. To a certain extent they have a point, but not entirely. See, a lot more people in addition to you and me enjoy digging through the charts, seeing a title that either brings back a memory or maybe never resonated at the time, and playing it with the thrill of discovering it all over again. What would we do without the internet to hear songs that radio have totally abandoned? Thanks, |
