Jim, I mention you often wherever I go. I think I told you this before, maybe not. I believe you mentioned a figure of 20% of people demand stereo renditions. While well within what I believe, too, the same holds true for HQ sound. It makes every bit of sense to my brain. I mean, that's why I enjoy stereo, when you can separate instruments and singing, better fidelity is gained! So, people in generally don't care for Stereo or HQ sound, that's a given. What, then, do they "like" about music? I was chatting with a co-worker about Billy Joel. He was rambling off lyrics like he wrote them! I was VERY impressed! Me, maybe I didn't care to decipher lyrics and just concentrated on the music. I remixed Billy Joel's "Piano Man" - to me, it was like the first time I ever heard it - beautiful, instruments I never heard before coming from everywhere. I asked him to listen to it and comment if he hears anything different. His only comment was Billy's vocals sounded different! Bottom line, it's fun to discover just what makes people enjoy music, with my crude experiments! :-) Best, |
