Bob, thanks. Not looking for you to do a requested show, just curious why it hasn't already been done. I left various Oldie forums since no one thought any music, other than decade old songs, were even worth mentioning. Here's my story... I forget how, but I ran across a tune that excited me, it was Robbie Patton, "Don't Give It Up". A co-worker said he could find the song (shared, likely). I however said I found it on a Lost '80's Hits, on the Capitol Records label (2012?). There are two Volumes, I bought both. But when I listened to the other tracks, one blew my mind, it was by Soulsister, The Way To Your Heart. Granted, it didn't make Top 40, but I went and bought the vinyl single when it received airplay. Even my sister remembers it. Robbie's hit made #23. BUT, Bob, even a Top 10 song, like Delbert McClinton's, Givin' It Up For Your Love, doesn't receive airplay around here (also on this CD set)!! Anyway (and FYI), here's a trend I see with commercial radio, CBS Radio, Greater Media, and I'm sure many others... See link. Thanks, Bob! Best, |
