Kev', this is from Randy Price; I hope it helps!... "You have to understand that when Billboard and Cash Box compiled their year-end charts, they had publication deadlines to deal with. Generally speaking, for the time period in question, they had to start compiling their data in late November or very early December, so it wasn't possible to include any record's chart positions after those dates. That's why records that peaked in late December/early January are usually missing or ranked much lower than expected on the published year-end charts. Of course, it would be easy after the fact to go back and compile such charts using the complete data for each record, but at the time that wasn't possible".
