This is an interesting area.

Back in 1959, Coral Records took some Buddy Holly home tapes, added backing musicians and released them.

They were fine, but technically not brilliant.

In 2012, an enthusiast (like John), took these tracks, tweaked them, and now, they are released on CD, and whatis more, are selling. (See link below)

So John - keep doing what you do. Not everything that came out was well-mastered and there are plenty of enthusiasts out there for this type of product.
