At WTTR Radio, we don't use 'oldies'. We call them 'The Greatest Hits of All Time'. Referencing Jim's remarks, I eschewed giving out years for a long time, but now I do it on occasion...along with a tidbit surrounding the song to help bring out some historical essence or ambience.

John, when I think of the term 'Classic Hits'...I think of 'Classic Rock' (Zeppelin, Boston, Humble Pie) or view the phrase as a code for limited playlist, audience researched tunage.
