Maybe the first day of kindergarten, I became familiar with Elvis, via his Rock-A-Hulla Baby song I heard. Decades after they were released, I was blessed with mint, first pressings of his '60's albums, still in cellophane, with stickers, just to dupe them to cassettes. Yeah, I had the darn Stereo issue of his Speedway album, the Mono pressing was $$$ rare. No other LPs in my collection could approach the dynamic sound of them. Since the songs were used in movie film, fast moving, superior sound quality movie film audio tracks were utilized, why the LPs sounded so good. I don't think any other record company would have produced such quality sound, as RCA. This song uses little echo, recorded live, maybe rehearsed over and over, the detailed sound is phenomenal. Elvis was one of the greasiest singers, operatic at times, with clean a clear lyrics. From an ordinary Audio CD, that proves you don't need anything better for great sound reproduction... |
