Subject: Northern Soul Revisited

Message Detail:
I never heard of this genre until a few years ago, but the music which represents the 'sound' is some of the most enjoyable around.
It's kind of like walking through several doors (a la Maxwell Smart) to get to the real gems.

Example, everybody knows the Vandellas 'tried and true' classics ('Heat Wave', Quicksand')....but when you encounter tunes like 'In My Lonely Room', 'Third Finger Left Hand', 'Its So Easy To Fall In Love With A Guy Like You', then you really uncover some treasures.

Bet Alan Rich and Jimmy Dee could provide us with more insight into this.
