Message Detail:
"One of my colleagues at WTTR in Westminster, Maryland is Jack Edwards. He has been in radio since 1956. He possesses every single Top 40 chart from Baltimore radio stations beginning with the 50's. Therefore he knows every single song that was a hit in Baltimore".

Does Jack know them enough to not be fooled by alternate Takes and such, without having to dig through his collection? Does he own Mono/Stereo versions? Does he own what was issued on CD as was once issued on vinyl?

Personally, there is yet to be any single DJ that currently plays what I remember hearing on radio, earlier on.

Some DJs, or station managers, probably because they can't play what I like hearing, tell me listeners want to hear ONLY the "hit" versions. However, with Beatles and Elvis shows, out come all the alternate takes, that the market is flooded with.

I like CLEVER DJ's who provide what hasn't been provided before!

Nice blog, Bob!

Best,
John
