Message Detail:
I once worked at a radio station in Aberdeen, Maryland. I was on the air when Dick Bartley called to pitch me his show in hopes we would add it to the weekend lineup.

Before I picked up the call, he was listening on hold and the song playing on the air was the Supremes 'When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes'.

When I picked up the call, we exchanged introductions. Bartley then asked, 'Was that the Supremes?' I replied, 'Yes, it was'..

'I never heard that song before', says Dick. 'Was that a hit in the Baltimore area?'

I told him it was a big hit for them at the end of '63 and into '64. He was rather surprised to learn that info.

Nice guy.
