About three years ago, Ireland became the first country in the world to ban the traditional lightbulb. The old incandescent type bulbs were phased out over a two year period, and are almost impossible to find now. So the only bulbs which can legally be sold are the low-energy long-life bulbs. I wasn't mad about them at first, but the technology improved and also, they really are long-life - I have not had to change a bulb since the first batch went in three years back. Talk about going off-subject! |
