Ha! Yeah! Some material found on albums should have been released as singles. I guess it was a game of who can guess best what will chart! I assume some record companies/artists near radio stations would use those as a guide to how popular a song might become by sending an acetate of the recording to play! This is how, I think, the group, The Cars, got started! The promo(s) received applause. Motown would do the same with radio station(s) in the Detroit area! Get their artists on the air, too!

Jim asked: Question is - who wins the prize for having the most singles released, withont one of them ever making the US Hot 100 or the US Country Top 100?

Got me, but I'm all ears! :-)

My questions: Of all the artists, who DIDN'T remake any of their songs, by one or more "original artists"?
