Subject: Cool Jerk - The Capitols

Message Detail:
This is one of my favorite songs from the '60's. In the song, "88s" is mentioned, such as "Give me a bit of bass with those 88s". What is an 88? Some say its the number of piano keys, and even though that may be correct, it doesn't "fit" the song. I'm guessing, maybe 88 was part of a model number of a popular bass guitar amplifier?
