I adore The Marvellettes. Hey, those young gals had a unique sound, and it was great! Motown made a HUUUUUGE mistake by not giving more effort into making The Marvellettes more successful, putting ALL their chips on The Supremes instead. "Beachwood 45789" is such an incredibly lovely song! Oh yeah and let us not forget Motown Records' very first #1 record--- "Please Mr. Postman"!!! And it was because of that Marvellettes hit that I seeked to become a Postman myself!! (NAH just kidding!!) Ironically, my all time favorite Marvellettes song is from their LATER years, "My Baby Must Be A Magician". God I'd melt when that song came on! |
