Love 'em!! My God, "What Time Is It" is one of the greatest songs ever made! Why was this only a minor hit I'll never know.

They seem to be known for slower stuff, I think, but they rocked too. I especially dig "Johnny Never Knew".
And "Do You Hear Wedding Bells", great party tune, nice sax solo!

To me, one major ingredient a Doo-Wop group must have to be great is for the Bass singer to have a major role, and Norman Johnson really stood out as the bass singer. I like that a lot. (He died too young. Don't know how.) Good Doo-Wop has to have the Bass singer be prominent, otherwise, for the most part, it sounds incomplete. It's like Irish music without an accordion. It's like Greek music without the Bouzouki. It's like the Partridge Family without David Cassidy. (Now THAT's a sad thought)

"My True Story" of course will always remain an all-time classic.

I LOVE The Jive Five!!!!
