That was one really strange film - lasted only about half and hour, all about a cyclist cycling a bicycle around Belsize Park in London - but with a French title which made you think Belsize was actually a French city. And some years later, one of the people who worked on the set told me that it was not even filmed in Belsize Park in London anyway, as the residents objected! So they filmed it somewhere else. Is nothing sacred? Still a nice song by Barry Mason and Les Reed - and there was also a very good version by Mireille Mathieu which was actually in French and which I have not hear in 50 years (OK - 43 years, but who's counting?) |
