It was Jimmy Jones's song "Good Timing". I've always loved that song.

I goofed on that a few times. I said it's from the 50s, it's from 1960. (close).

And as you stated he's NOT saying "high hopes".

He's not a one-hit-wonder (although I said the singer MIGHT be, so that's not a total screw-up) Jimmy Jones did the original "Handy Man".
